For gourmets and epicureans, dont miss: the Champagne vineyards at Rizaucourt-Argentolles and Coiffy-le-Haut and Montsaugeon Haute-Marne local wines, Bassignys brandies and liquors (yellow plum, Williams pear and raspberry...) or current ruby and renne; Haute-Marne truffles (tuber uncinatum), our forests game and Langres cheese... And for dessert, an original Truffle Ice Cream or simply a Pailly brioche. Many products of the land festivals take place throughout the year, held by our Brotherhoods.
Cheese from Langres (AOC) :
Since 1991, Langres cheese has been one of the 34 French cheeses with the appellation dorigine contrôlée label, the guarantee of origin. Already famous in the 18th century, this cheese made with full cows milk owes its name to the fortified town from where it comes. Langres cheese is characterized by its concave shape and orange colour. It is sometimes refined with Marc de Champagne or Burgundy. The cheese can be found in every dairy and grocery store in the region. |
